Bhakti Chai, a major 2013 partner of Off the Mat Into the World™, culminates this year’s partnership with the first ever “Living Your Bhakti” Grant Contest. The contest sought Off the Mat Into the World Leaders who are “living their bhakti” (their devotion through social action) via a non-profit or project that significantly benefits the global community and that furthers the mission of Off The Mat, Into The World (OTM).
Bhakti Chai selected Amanda Stuermer, founder of World Muse, to receive the $2,500 award. “Each and every grant applicant is living their bhakti in a powerful way. Amanda stood out to us because she has truly manifested a social movement inspired by women and girls,” says Brook Eddy, Founder and CEO of Bhakti Chai. “World Muse is an organization we are very passionate about and feel Amanda’s devotion to living her purpose has transformed into making a significant difference in the global community. We envision a long-term partnership based on our mutual mission to affect social change. ”
